Stiers, best known for his role as Charles Emmerson Winchester on M*A*S*H, passed away from colon cancer at 73 years old, in Newport, Oregon. Stiers graduated from North Eugene and then the University Of Oregon. I thought he was great on "M*A*S*H, as Winchester was a huge step up over Frank Burns, and along with B.J. Hunnicutt over Trapper John, and Col. Potter over Col Blake, made seasons 6-11 superior to 1-5.

He will be greatly missed by everyone involved with the Performing Arts Center in town where he helped serve as the Conductor of the Newport Symphony Orchestra.
