I wonder what their definition of cover is? I would think it means that all pants must be below the knee socket now and a much larger knee pad as to completely cover their knees, right? Every skill player hates low pants and bulky knee pads but those sand dollar size knee pads have always been a joke.Players this year must have knee pads that cover their knees, and if violating the rule, must leave the game for at least one down, and fix the equipment. The knee pads must also be covered by the pants and no protective equipment will be allowed to be worn outside the pants.
Further, just what is protective equipment defined as? If a players tapes his hamstring mid game is that considered protective? Is the actual rule specific to just the lower body or do shoulder pads need to worn under the pants now? lol

I disagree with not allowing a player to run and time a snap to hurdle another player to block a kick or make a tackle. Now if the player plants his foot on another players back to get higher in the air has always been a penalty. Tired of all the rules that are designed to benefit the offense/kicking game. I love offense just as much as the next guy, not at the expense of great athletic play by the defense.
