^ I think so. According to what I heard, he said Oregon and a few others offered.

From what I've read and heard on the radio, Taggart was the next option after Kelly. It's possible that Rhule was saying this in order to leverage a contract from another school, or a higher pay check.

New Baylor coach Matt Rhule turned down an offer from Oregon to go to Baylor, a highly placed source told CBS Sports.

Before taking the Baylor job, Rhule had met personally with Nike CEO Phil Knight, the source said. Oregon reportedly interviewed Taggart and Boise State's Bryan Harsin over the weekend.

Oregon, which fired Mark Helfrich last week after a 4-8 season, offered the job to Temple's Matt Rhule on Monday night but had to change directions when Rhule chose to go to Baylor instead.

Again Rhule is the source, so who knows? From other places I've heard only Chip and Herman had legit offers before WT.

They've been fairly active on the political scene lately, so yes.

They have really fallen hard. They have nowhere near the talent they once had and aren't getting the kind of top recruits they got under Briles. It's going to take Rhule a bit to get things going after the mess they had from Briles and their administration.
