I saw a report saying that he told UF officials that he wanted to interview at UCLA as well so I'm not sure how close it actually is.

That report was actually shot down last night.

Looks like UCLA or Florida. I got to think Florida is the better fit. Fertile recruiting grounds, school with a lot of resources in a soft SEC east in a time that the SEC as a whole is down. He could be in a position to compete for a championship within 5 years.

There's actually some pretty decent talent in CA as well. :D

Who does he get on his staff I wonder? He's still going to need a top flight recruiter even if it will be a lot easier to get those players. They don't play AU/UA next season either.

The other question is who would he try and poach from our class?

For his OC, I bet he goes for Ryan Day, who was his OC at SF and is currently co-OC at Ohio State, or Helf. I could see him maybe going after Coach Azz but after that, I guess you'd have to look at coaches who've been with him at Philly and SF or people with ties to UF and the SEC.

To that end former Safety Matt Harper has been the asst ST coach in Philly and was retained after Chip left. He's been in that position for a while and could be someone who finally gets promoted this year be it with Chip or elsewhere. Would he hire Gruden as an Offensive Analyst like Saban does?

I'm with you although I don't understand why UF guys are flying out of Ocala when the airport in Gainesville is 100x nicer and closer.

Florida fans want Tosh as DC. I don't know if he's a fit with Chip.

Just what Chip needs, a shady recruiting expert. You know that all of the SEC boosters from the other teams are going to feel threatened and they will go full tilt trying to get Chip in trouble.

Are there Chip guys on the fusky staff? Seems like Cal is most likely to get raided.
