I thought that was the case, it was a graphic on the tv, and maybe the undefeated start is in jeopardy, as WSU doesn't have any defense tonight. Maybe it was back to back 4-0 starts?

That is correct, if they win it’ll be the first time
They start off 4-0 in consecutive seasons since 1906 and 1907.

I didn’t notice at all but I wasn’t watching closely, wouldn’t surprise me though as USC may get more homecoookin’ than any other PAC-12 team not Stanford.
