RIP Paul Allen
In a bit of a shock, Blazers & Seahawks owner Paul Allen has died today at the age of 65 from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Wonder how this affects both those teams going forward.

Re: RIP Paul Allen
It could mean a lot for the Trail Blazers as they could make moves to ensure they are under the Tax line. He had to have had a structure in place for this possibility so I'm sure we'll learn more about what plans he made soon enough.

Re: RIP Paul Allen
Whoa! I thought they caught it in early stages this time around and that he would have a pretty seamless recovery. Wow. Awful for he and his family and could be a blow to the Blazers down the road but that's obviously far less important than the loss of life.

Re: RIP Paul Allen
As for ownership of the Blazers and Seahawks, it seems we won't get any resolution on that for awhile:

Re: RIP Paul Allen
That seems to be the general consensus on him. Besides how he's run the Blazers, I've yet to see anyone really say anything bad about him.snapt wrote:Fought a fire on his ranch last year. Heck of a nice guy.

Re: RIP Paul Allen
I think Paul Allen got a really bad shake of things due to the actions of the Blazers in that time frame, and that was early stages of Canzano. Knowing what we know now, how much negative press was there from any source besides Canzano? I can't think of any personally and I thought Allen was a really good owner. Look at the ego and approach of most owners and Allen was a very good blend of hands-on and hands-off.greenyellow wrote:That seems to be the general consensus on him.
