Nice to get a win, but still not looking very impressive overall.

A beautiful crossover drive by McCollum gets the Blazers to with in one, 113-112, with :6.7 seconds left. Denver inbounds to Jamal Murray, and he is called for being out of bounds. But, it is reviewed, and the call is reversed. Denver inbounds again, and this time, Murray is out of bounds. 5.7 to go Lillard gets it, drives to the basket, passes it out to CJ for a jumper to win the game...clank. Denver won this one in the first quarter, 38-26.

That has been the Blazers’s MO the last few games (crushed in the first quarter or two). Have anything to do with Harkless now in the starting lineup? The Blazers defense in the first half has been awful, teams have scored at will. I don’t think inserting Harkless has helped one bit. Me thinks Harkless (as much as I like him) is no more than a situational defender. He is a liability on offense, and the Blazers need to out score teams now. Layman had some great starts for the team, hitting some 3’s early in the flow of the game, and he actually plays serviceable defense. Are they now starting Harkless to showcase him for a trade? With him and Aminu, there is just no guarantee of any offensive production from either forward positions, on a nightly basis. That is certainly not good.

Spurs 131 Blazers 118. The Blazers mixed things up in this one, won the first quarter, 33-32. They were outscored, 30-22, even in the 3rd, and San Antonio outscored them, 34-28, in the 4th. Lillard had 37 for Portland, DeRozan, 36 for San Antonio. Going in to the game, Portland was 7th in the West, 13-9, San Antonio, 15th, 10-12.

After some glimpses of hope to start the season, there sure doesn't appear to be many reasons to feel optimistic about the season at this point. I'm not sure the odds of even making the playoffs would be above 50% at this point.

The Blazers outscored the Mavericks, 57-51 in the 2nd half. Unfortunately, the Mavericks outscored the Blazers, 60-45, in the first half, to get a 111-102 win. 33 for Lillard to lead Portland, 21 for Doncic, led Dallas.

They desperately need a trip to the lottery.

Suns 4-20 Blazers 13-11
Can the Blazers beat the Suns, who will be w/o their best player, Devin Booker?

They can. Outscored the Suns, 34-9 in the first quarter. The Timberwolves come in to the Moda Center, on Saturday.

Two in a row!!!!!x is the worst team in the league, and their best player didn't play, and Minnesota is now @.500, 13-13, but a W is a W. The Blazers took care of Phoenix in the first quarter, and in this one it was great to see the Blazers finish the game strong.
With 3:53 togo in the 4th, two FT's by Townes put the T-Wolves up 6, 102-96. But the Blazers backcourt responded with consecutive drives to the basket, Lillard was fouled, made his FT, to make it 102-101. A stop, and a jumper by Lillard put the Blazers ahead, 103-102, Townes hit a 3, 105-103, T-Wolves. Two FT's by Aminu ties it at 105, That's all the points for Minnesota, Lillard & McCollum both hit 3', and Lillard finished it off with a couple of FT's to seal it, 113-105, A double-double for Nurkic, 22 & 10, Lillard, 28 points, McCollum, 19.

At the 4:30 mark of the 1st quarter, the 15-12 Blazers led the 11-14 Rockets by 13, 25-12. When the quarter ended, the Rockets had gone on a 17-4 run to cut the lead to 2, 29-27. The Blazers hung on, led at halftime, 54-51. But, the Rockets outscored the Blazers 60-49, and won, 111-104. On an unrelated note, I heard last night on ESPN that Spurs Coach, Greg Popovich, got NBA win 1211, on 12-11.

TANKING!!! It might finally be happening. Probably not purposely, but this time the team is so bad on so many levels it might not be able to stop the fall and will end up in the Lottery.

Blazers 128 Raptors 122.
Yeah, they beat the Raptors, w/o Lowry. But, this is what we've come to know about this team. They go 3-7 the last 10 games, losing over and over to teams below them in the standings, then get a rush and beat the team with the best record. If they can go 7-3 in the next 10, this win could be helpful.
