Your trading your backup center for cap space when your 1st in the league trying to win a championship and none of your other contracts come off this year so you'll still be over the cap next year?

Eddy, you traded away all of your future for the sake of winning a championship this year AND so far it has been going well. That being said, you are totally nullifying all the work you did to make your team competitive. You shouldn't be worried about clearing cap because (1) there is no way you will have any cap space with all the big contracts you have and (2) you are competing for a championship with the core you already have... you don't need free agents.

To compete for a championship, depth is crucial. YOU should be the one acquiring a player like Andrew Lang, not giving him away for useless 2nd round picks.

Why are you trying to get capspace for next year? You won't even have money to sign anyone. Lang would be better than anyone you could sign.

On top of that, Lang expires in 2 years when some of your big players do, so his contract would come off the books at the right time.

Beyond all of that, his contract is great. Low and for 2 years. Meh.

Why is this not a veto then?

True. Veto. In fact, I told Pistons to PM me before a deal, and he didn't so. Thus veto.

I think a good rule of thumb for not getting a trade veto'd, ask yourself if you were the other guy, who you do the deal you're offering?
