Not looking for the slow build, I wanted to compete right away and got some pieces that can help now. I still also have some youth to grow alongside my newly acquired players. I’ll be very surprised if I don’t make the playoffs following this trade.
Kanter is exactly what I’m looking for at center (A def, A reb, B+ inside). Consistent numbers and top tier rebounding. Big contract but I’ll make it work. Hoping I can retain Young and Harris in the offseason.
Young is an upgrade on Josh smith (who I had no intention of retaining) and a couple years younger. Harris looks promising with B+ out and def. Shittu is expendable with Kanter and Metu. I can move undersized Metu to PF. Happ/Collins are long shot 2nd rounders. Trent is the only piece I’ll miss, but glad to let him go to get a much stronger defensive lineup.
Confident that I can put out a playoff team for years to come, so the pick swap doesn’t worry me.
I’d still like to make some more moves. So if you have any ideas let me know. The heat have arrived, watch out eastern conference!

Re: Miami Heat & Milwaukee Bucks
I think this needs to be 2 deals. Please break out:
Collins and the pick swap
For
Thornton and the 2nd
Otherwise, agreed. Going backwards, but my lineup wasn’t working. This gives me a reset without having to teardown.

Im hesitant with new GMs trading future picks. Last one slipped by me when the Cavs traded their future pick for Blake Griffin

We’ve altered the deal a little to alleviate any concerns. I’ll make sure not to deal future picks for now, please let me know when I’m out of the probation period.Oregon Ownage wrote:Im hesitant with new GMs trading future picks. Very nice for Bucks. Drop the worst contract in the league and get two sweet young pieces in Gary Trent Jr and Simi Shittu.

Understand, I'm OK with lopsided deals here or there. It's part of the game. But not the new guy, that's lame.BucksGM wrote:Hi TK. Nice to see you again. Re: Miami Heat & Milwaukee Bucks
No faith in the new guy. I don’t really have any long term commitments on my team and I’m perfectly fine with Kanters contract moving forward. His attributes are exactly what I was looking for. Looks like he was an Allstar last year and has career highs in fg% and rpg this year. I’m sure his scoring will increase as I make him a focal point of my inside offense. If I’m unable to resign Harris and/or Young, I’ll be upset for sure. I’m looking to deal one of them now to hedge my bets.
My team is certainly better today than it was yesterday. Slow rebuilds are boring. Based on the standings and trade market, it looks like there are enough teams tanking around here.

That contract though...Craig wrote:Kanter is a good player. That’s just a lot to give up.
Gary Trent Jr. is the best player in this deal.

Re: Miami Heat & Milwaukee Bucks
This trade makes Heat better for one season but it's filled with old overpaid guys. Bucks get Trent, Shittu, and a early 1st? That's a haul.Craig wrote:UOducksTK1 wrote:Bucks are getting Cavs 2021 1st too? Lol what?
Plus gets rid of that contract he was so happy about 2 weeks ago. Smh
