2021 SGs

Post by Oregon Ownage »

LaMelo Ball B+ B- C B C- A
Gained notoriety after scoring 100 points in a high school game. Later in the summer, after struggling in a AAU game, LaMelo was home schooled to finesse his game. His career at UCLA was full of ups and downs. A streaky shooter who can take over a game but can also take his team out of the game. LaMelo has the skills but whether he can be a team player is a another discussion. Overall you have a first shoot guard who can be a great defender if he puts in the effort. Amazing potential.

Anfernee Simons C+ A- C+ C+ C- A
Rises up with confidence in his jumper and is becoming a real threat from three point range. A powerful driver who can take it into the lane with either hand and has a nice little jumper and good looking mid range game, to go along with his ability to get to the rim. Great potential

Kody Stattmann C- A- D+ B- C B
Kody’s jumper is a thing of beauty. He keeps is elbows in, rises up quickly and smoothly and has a picture perfect release. His outside shooting will be his calling card at the next levels of play. Lacks the athleticism. Solid potential

Quentin Grimes C B C+ B D+ B
Has combo guard skills and is developing his handles. Has an improving outside shot and should be able to make this a consistent part of his game. Good potential

David Duke C B C C C A
Has a smooth release on his jumper and an advanced mid range game. Has a quick and compact overhead release and gets nice elevation on his shot. Will need time to develop. Overall good potential

Thomas Allen C+ B+ C B- C- B
Very good shooting stoke who is finding his feet outside the line. Can also rise up and slam down an alley hoop. Quick for his position he uses that speed to harass the offense on the perimeter. Above average growth.

L.J. Figueroa C+ B+ C B D C
Very good size for his position and knows to to effectively use it. Has the ability to score inside and out. His long arms allow him to pick off passes and start a fast break. Stronger than most at his position. Average potential.

Jamal Johnson C+ B- C- C D A
Very much a work in progress player. Needs to improve his range and when to attack the rim. Defense is average at this point. Ability is there but bad coaching at Memphis has hindered his development. If you allow for some seasoning and coaching, Jamal can turn into a solid player for you. Great potential.

Tyler Herro C+ B+ C C+ D+ B
Scorer at all levels of the floor. Knows when to pull up and drive to be most efficient. Defense is lacking, as he attempts to make a steal but often leaves his marker wide open. Passing is also lacking. Good potential.

Keldon Johnson C+ B- C C+ C- A
Another blue chipper from the University of Kentucky. Never really showcased his full ability at school due to lack of playing time but it came through in spurts. More of a slasher scorer who will need to improve his range. Very good potential.
