Seattle SuperGoners?

Post by FlDuckFan »

According to insider sources after multiple failed attempts to obtain state or local funding for desperately need updates for Seattle’s Arena or even a new arena it appears that the Seattle Supersonics are for sale. With the recent success this team has shown on and off the court the ownership group was hopeful that something could be done. Earlier this year the group pushed for legislation hard and with help of star players Zion Harmon , Ben Simmons , and local fan favorite Jaren Jackson Jr. it appeared to be their year. Unfortunately for staff and fans the ballot measure did not pass.

Said in a statement released by the ownership “It has been our hope to build a new state of the art facility for our players and fans to enjoy. Unfortunately we were unsuccessful in many attempts to do such things.” It continues “ It is with a heavy heart that we have put both the Seattle NBA and WNBA up for sale.”

According to sources inside the NBA a firm from Oklahoma City, Ok. Is the leading candidate for the purchase offering close to a reported $3.6 billion with projections that it could escalate for close to $4.2 billion if need be. Famous for housing both the Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets during the seasons in which their home cities were drastically affected by hurricanes. OKC has been in the NBA’s sights for several years, with many pointing to the fan base and pointing out it’s similarity to that of a collegiate team.

Asked about the potential move to OKC , star point guard Zion Harmon stated “ Look man, I love Seattle a lot of the guys here were drafted by this team and this City. The loyalty is here everyone is out here competing and trying to bring back another ‘ship .When I was little I used to love watching Melo in these jerseys."

Can they move and become the Thunder? I'm all for franchises moving if that's a possibility... That seems way more fun

If that's the case I'd like to move my team to Sydney. I need a better home court advantage

The Board will look into the request.

Any relocation plans must benefit all teams (cough: more money) and be subject to a vote.

1. Are you asking for a bribe ? because when it comes to internet games that don't matter I'm not above that.

2. I think because of the low activity of participation this league is going through that my article while small at least deserves a +2 should I put a poll up? ;)
