Current Top 5 Closest Among Actives to Career DASL Records

Post by The Bean Regime »

As I've already written the 2nd rounders article, I know there's no points to be had here and it's just for fun. No poll. Hope y'all enjoy this look. This is accurate as of sim 16 (days 81-85). Of course the method of calculating some stats (games * statpergame, rounded to nearest whole) leaves a little room for error.

Bolded are the current record holders.

EDIT: edited out the two decades part of the assist record. Probably just typed it in the wrong verdict, as I had written those after gathering the stats. the two decades stat is the steals from Allen Iverson, set in the 2012 season, and is the longest running record beside Andre Miller's 29 triple doubles (which will be falling shortly). No other record is set before 2022.

EDIT: Added rings, POTM, double doubles, and triple doubles below. These were part of another data set, so I had to edit the excel grabber majiggy.
Also, there are 596 total active players currently in the league.

Games: Kawhi Leonard – 1642
#1) 37yo Kristaps Porzingis - Rockets - 1476
#2) 36yo Thon Maker – Raptors - 1457
#3) 37yo Justice Winslow – Pistons – 1419
#4) 37yo Karl-Anthony Towns – Clippers – 1369
#5) 37yo D’Angelo Russell - Heat – 1360
Verdict: Top 3 have a chance.

3-Pointers: Kevin Durant – 4108
#1) 35yo Brandon Ingram - Thunder – 4070
#2) 35yo Lonzo Ball – Rockets – 3426
#3) 37yo D’Angelo Russell – Heat – 3075
#4) 34yo Michael Porter – Warriors – 2952
#5) 33yo RJ Barrett – Bucks – 2899
Verdict: Say hello to your new record holder Brandon Ingram by the end of the season. Nobody else is even in the same vicinity.

Points: Carmelo Anthony – 48638
#1) 35yo Brandon Ingram - Thunder – 41461
#2) 35yo Lonzo Ball – Rockets – 33491
#3) 37yo D’Angelo Russell – Heat – 32232
#4) 36yo Thon Maker – Raptors – 32054
#5) 33yo RJ Barrett – Bucks – 29893
Verdict: Ingram has a very real chance of making it. If the season ended today, he would be 7,177 points short. At a PPG average of 25, he would be 288 games away, or just around 3 and a half seasons.

Rebounds: DeMarcus Cousins – 18875
#1) 36yo Thon Maker – Raptors - 17775
#2) 37yo Kristaps Porzingis - Rockets - 17417
#3) 37yo Karl-Anthony Towns - 14785
#4) 35yo Jonathan Isaac - Warriors - 14227
#5) 33yo Bol Bol – Cavaliers – 13834
Verdict: Assuming Maker does not retire at the end of this season, he’ll be the new record holder sometime next season.

Assists: John Wall – 12943
#1) 35yo Lonzo Ball – Rockets - 12374
#2) 37yo D’Angelo Russell – Heat - 11968
#3) 35yo Markelle Fultz – Celtics - 10231
#4) 34yo Collin Sexton – Trailblazers - 8932
#5) 33yo Darius Garland – 8509
Verdict: Wall’s record should be falling to Lonzo Ball next season.

Steals: Allen Iverson – 3773
#1) 37yo Justice Winslow – Pistons - 2696
#2) 34yo Luka Doncic – Bulls - 2600
#3) 34yo Collin Sexton – Trailblazers - 2552
#4) 35yo Malik Monk – Spurs - 2546
#5) 31yo LaMelo Ball - 76ers – 2530
Verdict: LOL.
In seriousness, Ball actually has a chance. At his current 2.4 SPG on the season average, he’d need 518 more games. If he plays a full 82 games this season, he’d break the record right at the start of the 2040 season when he’d be 38 years old.

Blocks: Amar’e Stoudemire – 4497
#1) 36yo Thon Maker – Raptors - 4517
#2) 35yo Mohamed Bamba – Bucks - 3506
#3) 33yo Bol Bol – Cavaliers - 3458
#4) 37yo Kristaps Porzingis - Rockets - 2952
#5) 34yo Ike Anigbogu – Thunder – 2900
Verdict: Well, Maker already has it. What a beast.

Turnovers: Carmelo Anthony 5492
#1) 35yo Markelle Fultz – Celtics – 4385
#2) 34yo Michael Porter - Warriors - 3968
#3) 35yo Brandon Ingram - Thunder – 3808
#4) 35yo Lonzo Ball – Rockets – 3766
#5) 37yo Justice Winslow – Pistons - 3689
Verdict: It’s safe at the moment.

And just for fun, the current active player with the most DQs is…
33yo Goga Bitadze of the 76ers at 77 DQs!
And the fun part is, he’s only played 920 games. Second place at 73 DQs is 37yo Karl-Anthony Towns over 1369 games. The following leaders do not drop below 1048 games until #9, which is 59 DQs over 828 games which belongs to 32yo Vernon Carey Jr. of the Bucks.

Rings
#1) 37yo Kristaps Porzingis – Bucks - 4
#2T) 31yo Justice Ajogbor – Trailblazers – 3
#2T) 35yo Brandon Ingram – Thunder – 3
#2T) 31yo LaMelo Ball – 76ers – 3
#2T) 33yo Cameron Reddish – Clippers – 3
#2T) 33yo Darius Garland – Lakers – 3
#2T) 34yo Nick Weatherspoon – Grizzlies - 3
#3T) Tied amongst 10 players at 2
#4T) Tied amongst 36 players at 1

Double Doubles: Thon Maker - 992
#1) 36yo Thon Maker – Raptors - 1021
#2) 37yo Kristaps Porzingis – Rockets - 936
#3) 33yo Bol Bol – Cavaliers - 766
#4) 37yo Karl-Anthony Towns – Clippers - 737
#5) 35yo Jonathan Isaac – Warriors – 690
Verdict: Maker currently has the record and is just building off it. Not much competition unless Bol goes 82/82 on the next 3 seasons, or Maker retires after the season.

Triple Doubles: Andre Miller – 29
#1) 30yo Jalen Johnson – Grizzlies - 29
#2) 29yo Zion Harmon – Thunder - 20
#3) 31yo Lynn Greer III – Hornets – 19
#4) 32yo Ashton Hagans – Mavericks - 18
#5) 27yo Samartine Bogues – Kings – 16
Verdict: Johnson will have it. Bogues will be a serious threat, as he has only started 5/7 of his seasons and one of those was his unimpressive rookie campaign.

POTM Awards
#1) 33yo RJ Barrett – Bucks – 10
#2T) 35yo Brandon Ingram – Thunder – 6
#2T) 37yo D’Angelo Russell – Heat – 6
#4T) 29yo Zion Harmon – Thunder – 5
#4T) 36yo Thon Maker – Raptors - 5

I don't think anyone catches Iverson is steals, but it is more likely to be Lynn Greer III than Lonzo, he's only about 160 or so back of Lonzo and he's played 4 less years (and wasn't a starter for 3 of the years he did)

Yeah, I checked him manually since I knew he had a few 3.0+ SPG seasons. Those 3 bench years hurt. Although, to be fair, Ball has had his fair share of injuries and has 83 less games played than Greer.

With his current 2.5 SPG average, finishing out the season with no injuries, it would then take an additional 553 games which is about 3/4 of the way through the same season and age as Ball, assuming perfect health of course.

yeah, I bet neither gets it. Could depend on team fits too, I played very slow or slow pace most of the last 2-3 seasons. If I (or someone else) starts Greer on a fast or very fast team I'd guess he'd sneak up closer to his old 3+ SPG. Of course, his offense isn't as good as Ball, so he's more likely to end up as someone's backup as he gets into his mid-30s
