Oregon is going to be really short at ILB this year with Robinson, Dunmore, and now Cassel gone. Have to think something else besides his DUI led to him not being on the team anymore. About the only silver lining to this is there's now another scholarship open.

One of our deeper positions quickly disappears. Amazing what offseasons can produce! Never a dull offseason in Oregon it seems lately.

Of all the positions, QB, WR, and ILB are most at risk for serious problems if there's an injury or two.

Not that he ever played, but we also lost Bafaro during the off-season.

Maybe Don Pellum is a no nonsense guy and this is his way of showing it. Hopefully we don't lose anyone else.

I hope Jimmie Swain is ready. It's not a big deal now, but we will need to recruit LBs in the next year or two.

Has Walker put on weight this off season? I can't recall on the weight list a few months ago.

Rob Moseley said Walker looked much improved this past spring. Don't know about his weight though.

I think the updated roster had him at around 235-240, which means he put on about 15-20 pounds from last season.

240 and improved play/experience might really be good for us. He has a lot of natural talent, was just a little underweight and looked a little lost at times. I have high hopes for him this year. If he could get 240+ and quicker at recognition, that would be great.

51 Isaac Ava LB 5-10 255 RSr. Ewa Beach, Hawaii (St. Louis HS)
42 Cody Carriger LB 6-6 245 RSo. Butte, Mont. (Butte HS)
33 Tyson Coleman LB 6-1 240 RJr. Lake Oswego, Ore. (Lake Oswego HS)
96 Christian French LB 6-5 244 RJr. Cedar Rapids, Iowa (John F. Kennedy HS)
48 Rodney Hardrick LB 6-1 231 RJr. Colton, Calif. (Colton HS)
31 Justin Hollins LB 6-6 216 Fr. Arlington, Texas (Martin HS)
22 Derrick Malone LB 6-2 220 RSr. Colton, Calif. (Colton HS)
46 Danny Mattingly LB 6-5 235 RFr. Spokane, Wash. (Mead HS)
86 Torrodney Prevot LB 6-3 220 So. Houston, Texas (Alief Taylor HS)
27 Johnny Ragin III LB 6-3 220 So. Wilsonville, Ore. (California) (Wilsonville HS)
18 Jimmie Swain LB 6-3 229 Fr. Olathe, Kan. (Olathe North HS)
35 Joe Walker LB 6-2 237 Jr. Palos Verdes, Calif. (L.A. Harbor College) (Palos Verdes HS)

Some servicable names in there, but we'll certainly need Walker to step it up. Mattingly could play inside?
