We really are fortunate to have someone as talented as MM, yet his character might be his best asset as a person.

Yea, but when it comes to being an All-American type, he's 2nd to Jameis. I know its not glamorous but I'd much rather see an All-American list full of high-character guys that also happen to excel at playing football than simply rewarding them outright on what they do on the field. I think it would also help more players strive to excel off the field too but I know that is wishful thinking when the sports media turns into a clown shown over anything manziel does.

My favorite part of that article is where he stops every day and gives a cliff bar and a juice to a homeless person. Shows a lot of compassion.

Ruben Droughns was in that same mold. Iirc he even gave his lettermans jacket to Hattoon when he was on campus.
