Very Bad News

Post by KingofDucks »

Troy Hill is out with a torn ACL. Like Dennis Dixon against ASU in 07, it was a minor tear. He's a tough SOB and played great in the 2nd half against Michigan State with a brace. But now it looks like they are holding him out indefinitely.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I was told by a very reliable source. I'm as upset as the rest of you.

Wow------just after he rebounded from some off field issues and came back
strong with a great attitude and great play.

I think Troy is a 5th year Senior.

Hope there's a chance he can make it back by year's end.

Seisay got beat a ton of times against Wyoming and Dior is Dior. That side of the field could be a problem.

Yeah, pretty difficult to stomach this so early in the year.

Having said that, as I recall the injury-bug in 2007 disproportianately hit our skill position guys
and was not spread more evenly across the roster. Dixon going down after Costa had torn his ACL
was the straw that broke the camel's back.

With any luck, Andre and Jake will be back and a couple of our young D-backs will step up.

Just trying to put a positive spin on the situation. :)

Very sad. Any way he gets a medical RS? Or even wants one?

Bralon- ?
Fisher- Misses two games
Johnstone- Out for the year.
Andre- Misses five games.
Hill- Out for the year.

I would hesitate to say the team is cursed just yet. Two (maybe three) guys out for the year and two guys missing a few weeks doesn't seem that far from standard. In 2012 at the end of the year the team definitely felt more cursed than now

As long as we don't have any more "out for the year"s we should be fine.

KOD have you heard anything regarding Bralon?

KOD- over the weekend you said your sources told you he was fine and only being held out as a precaution. Now he is out for the season most likely. Wondering about the sources.

Not that anyone is infallible, but the other way to view this is that it was the same for Dixon - they thought he was okay at first, and then it came out that he was gone for the year. There must be something about tearing an ACL that requires further inspection.

Serious bummer. It sure looked like Troy was finally putting it together this season.
