Yup, just keep winning. That Michigan State non conference win and the fact Fisher was out for the Arizona loss will factor big in getting us in. Pac-12 champs with a top 10 non-conference win + 1 first half season loss will get us in.duck58 wrote:Herb said last night his vote now would be Mississippi State, FSU, Ole Miss, and Oregon. Notre Dame has an outside shot of passing us if they win out. I don't think it'll happen, but it's not impossible. I saw a writer today pick them to be in the playoffs and left us out.

The polls are an absolute joke right now. None of the SEC teams have beaten anyone of significance OOC this year. Ole Miss didn't even play a BCS conference team OOC. The only wins of note are Bama beating WVU by 10 and Auburn beating KSU by 6. Those OOC wins are apparently so amazing that Ole Miss and Miss St need to do nothing more than beat Bama and Auburn to vault themselves into the playoff.
If the playoff committee buys into the SEC propaganda and has those teams in the playoff then I will lose all hope in college football ever having a fair, un-rigged system. Teams should have to earn their way into the playoffs, you know like in EVERY OTHER SPORT IN THE WORLD. Including every other division of college football. Ole Miss and Miss haven't done anything besides beat two in-conference teams that haven't proven anything other than that they are capable of winning close against fringe top 25 teams. If the Pac-12 had the same perception as the SEC Arizona would have jumped to #1 after they beat us then USC would have jumped into the top 5 after beating Arizona and Arizona would have stayed in the top 5 because they had beaten top 10 Oregon and their only loss was to top 5 USC. And, of course, Oregon would be right there in the top 5 too because their only loss would have been to top 5 Arizona.

You nailed that. Arizona was undefeated........and also UNRANKED. Washington was 5-1, and UNRANKED. Every team in the SEC who is unbeaten gets an automatic top15 ranking regardless of schedule, and one loss teams are still guaranteed a top 15 ranking if they got beat by another SEC team. Geez, A&M was still ranked as a two loss team prior to the Bama beatdown. Arizona and Arizona St are just barely cracking the top 15 as one loss teams. You can bet if they were in the SEC they would be in the top 10. So much bias in college sports.dthomas=ddixon wrote:The polls are an absolute joke right now. Meh, they still all have to play each other. Several of them will still lose at least once. That will all sort itself out. UO just needs to win out and they're in.

Yeah, we seemed to have had this debate in 2012 and 2013 and we ended up losing so. Lets focus on winning out. We could totally lose to Cal or Utah or Oregon State if we don't show up to play, something we have shown we are susceptible to the last two seasons.
