Heard from two CFB coaching circles that Colorado State's search firm is high on #Oregon OC Scott Frost.

Scott can do better than Colorado State

Yeah, for his own sake, I hope he'd wait out for something better.

I've been worried that they'll go after Lubick, his dad is a legend there. Personally, I'd rather keep Lubick at Oregon over Frost.

Me too. They were the one school I was worried about offering Lubick an HC position. Frost leaving is virtually a sure thing, losing Lubick too would be a blow so I would much rather it be Frost to Colorado State.wlduck wrote:Yep.webfoot72 wrote:I've been worried that they'll go after Lubick, his dad is a legend there. Why? His resume is pretty thin.DAT_man_again wrote:Scott can do better than Colorado State

Colorado State really isn't a bad job. They've been doing pretty well over there. I think Oregon OC to CSU HC is a step up, just not a huge one. If he gets the job (and wants it), congrats to him. We'd promote Lubick I'd guess, and I'd feel confident about that.

McElwain left Bama, went to CSU for a few years and just landed at Florida. Frost could do way worse than CSU.QuackininBama wrote:Is he really that desperate to leave? Geesh

I have a hunch that Bryan Harsin at Boise State is going to be lured to Michigan, and if that happens, Frost would likely be a target for that job.Duck24 wrote:McElwain left Bama, went to CSU for a few years and just landed at Florida. That's just my gut feeling.

I agree not a bad job, a good one for him actually.Tray Dub wrote:Colorado State really isn't a bad job. They've been doing pretty well over there. It's a more than double the pay and a good stepping stone job. He would have above average talent compared to his schedule. A low level P5 job where you're likely to get curb stomped can be a career ender in terms of future head coaching jobs for someone with as thin a resume as Frost. Derek Mason is finding it not so easy at Vandy. Leach is living off his TT resume at WSU or he'd have a warm rear end.

CSU isn't bad. They just invested a bunch into football, too. He's going to inherent an All-American WR if nothing else.

Re: Jeremy Fowler (ESPN): Colorado State high on Scott Frost
CSU is a pretty decent gig for a guy with no HC experience and just a few as OC. I think it all depends on what Frost's aspirations are for his career, he can stay and potentially get an offer from a higher tier gig but the talent level would probably be the same and be expected to win fairly quickly.
