Re: Top 5 Oregon Teams?
It was an unnecessary shot at a player that didn't need to be taken. I guess you could say every player has let Oregon down at one time or another because they still haven't won a title. Ease up a bit on former players just because they didn't live up to your expectations.OregonFan4Life wrote:I was pointing out weaknesses in teams to justify where I put the order. It was necessary to point out the weakness but how I think that weakness wasn't strong enough to make them less than the best team in Oregon history. Oh well, sorry I took a shot at him, but I don't think he just didn't meet my expectations.greenyellow wrote:It was an unnecessary shot at a player that didn't need to be taken. I stand corrected. I misread that.greenyellow wrote:Who said they did? I'm not reading that anywhere in this thread. The only thing close was lukeyrid13 comparing the 2011 Rose Bowl team to them and saying the 2001 team would win that game, thus making them the better team.Isaiahsdad wrote:For all you young Ducks: The 2001 Team played in the Fiesta bowl, not the Rose bowl.

I agree, that 1895 team was beastly. Can't believe they're not popping up on more lists yet.fpsduck wrote:1. 2010

1. 2012: Blew out everyone except for Stanford. If DAT makes one block we win our first national title over ND.
2. 2010: A FG away from a title, nuff said.
3. 2014: So many injuries and a terrible LB corps.
4. 2001: Much like the 2012 team, except defense wasn't quite as good.
5. 2011: First rose bowl in 95 years. Were better than every team on our schedule except the first.
2007 can't be in there. A 4 loss team can't be in the discussion, even with an injury to the best player.

Re: Top 5 Oregon Teams?
The fun thing about this conversation is we could end up with many different top 5 lists depending on the criteria. Are we ranking talent? Achievement? A combination of both? I love that some people have ranked 2007 really high, for example, because it was a GREAT team. But there's no getting around the fact that it ended tragically. Here's my top 5, based more on achievement than talent but with a mix of both:
(1) 2012
(2) 2010
(3) 2014
(4) 2001
(5) 2011

Re: Top 5 Oregon Teams?
That's true, there is a lot of criteria to use. I based my decision off of most talented when healthy (not including players that missed most of the season, like I don't include Boyett on the 2012 team). I just think when that 2012 was healthy, they'd beat any other team in Oregon history.BrianLibby wrote:The fun thing about this conversation is we could end up with many different top 5 lists depending on the criteria. Really? 2007 lost to an avg cal team, I don't think they would beat any of the teams from 2010-2104. They might beat the 2001 team, but it would be very close. The 2013 team was steamrolling everyone until, like the 07 team, our best player got hurt. Once MM couldn't run anymore, and dat desided the NFL was more importand, the O came to a screeching halt.

If we have a Qb, it very well might. I sure wouldn't take any other WR core UO has had over next years group. I also think the OL is going to be awesome, as well as the DL. And as hard as it is to believe, because we've had studs at RB, next years group could be as good and as deep as we've ever seen.

Re: Top 5 Oregon Teams?
It's gonna be hard with a new QB, but if the LB performance improves drastically and if a QB turns out to be solid, then it's possible they could be the best of all time! There's gonna be a lot of talent all over this team.UOducksTK1 wrote:Any chance Oregon's 2015 team cracks this list?
