Vernon Adams to decide Monday

Post by lukeyrid13 »

No mention at all of UCLA(really good to hear) and it's down to just us and EWU.

I don't think I'm being too dramatic when I say our season hinges on his decision.

I think it's too soon to say our season hinges on his decision.

We still know nothing about Waller, and we don't know how Lockie will look with a spring/summer/fall under his belt as starter. We also don't know how well Adams would take to our offense if he's not here for the spring or summer.
Willie Taggart is a dick.

Competition is a good thing...so I'm hoping that VA makes his way to us this up coming Fall Season. He'll NEVER get this much TV exposure playing at EW. If he wants to prove that he can compete at the PAC-12 level and be on the national stage every weekend....then BRING IT!

Adams may be a bust who knows, but I think it's safe to say he has the POTENTIAL to lead us to a top 5 finish. I don't think we can seriously say that any of the other QB's can take us to the promised land. We might get serviceable play from our QB but at best that gets us 9-10 wins in the regular season, which is nice but not where we would like to be as a program.

I say yes. Assuming Adams is all as advertised, this will give Waller and Mahalak more time to grow. And frankly, I'm a big fan of Green, and to have him here the following season will garner a healthy competition against the rest of the guys on the roster.

I'm not convinced either way. Lockie hasn't done anything to scare me and he has had years to learn the system. Adams may be the better QB but who know's how effective he can be jumping right into the offense?

Meaningful snaps he has played.....
- Against Texas when Mariota lost his helmet, we had a false start and then a fumbled snap and went from the 5 to the 20 and missed a FG and got no points
- Against Ohio ST after the Bosa hit he bobbled the snap and rolled out and got absolutely lit up on a play that had no chance

Those two players have no bearing as to whether he is a good quarterback or not.

Regardless, I really hope we can land VA.

It doesn't sound like he really even knows what he wants to do yet. He asked a mutual friend what he thinks he should do tonight.

He already knows what he's going to do; he just needs to understand why. 8-)

Nope. He can't transfer without penalty until he graduates and he won't be finished with his degree until May.
