Good for him, he was certainly underpaid in relation to other PAC coaches.

He probably deserves a lot more. Have you ever noticed that Helfrich is always smiling? I mean Urban Meyer has his
absolute lack of personality and Saban has his famous scowl. But Helfrich is always smiling in his press interviews
and even on the sidelines ones. You always hear about how smart he is and what a great leader. But I have never
seen another coach smile as much in all my life..... Helfrich knows a lot we don't.

Mike Riley is ALWAYS smiling, that's why I always refer to him as Smiley. After the 2012 civil war he walked into the press room and was smiling before he even talked.

$2.5 mil a year for a team who competes for a playoff every year seems pretty good for us. But yes, great to see Helf getting more. Congrats. Keep on winning!

Only issue I take with his contract is the PERS payments.
