I simply don't believe it. I don't think Chip will jeopardize the future of the franchise like that for one player.

My source just said Chip is officially back!
It will be announced at Autzen press conference tomorrow afternoon!

They could always reunite if Marcus ever enters free agency and if Chip is still around and in need of a QB. Whoever drafts him may get impatient and look to trade him also. These are but a couple ways they could end up back together without Chip needing to sacrifice the Eagles' future.

If Marcus goes to the Eagles, I will finally have an NFL team to legitimately root for

I think it could be really good or really bad for the Eagles, Chip and Mariota. If Marcus is able to execute the same in the NFL as he did in college then Chip and Philly would be formidable, possibly for years to come.

On the other hand, if things didn't work out, Marcus was seriously injured, if NFL defenses were able to find more ways to slow down Chip's offense, etc then Chip could be out as coach and Marcus would basically be a rookie all over again. Unless a new coaching staff was willing to create their offense based on Mariota's skill set, and I doubt that would be the case. If it didn't work with him and Chip I doubt a new staff would come in and try to do more of the same.

It's a BIG roll of the dice, but Chip would have to see it as a guaranteed formula for success if he did it and I certainly wouldn't bet against him.
