He is 4 months out from an ACL tear. He will be 9 months out come the season opener. I'm not holding my breath that he has any significant impact until halfway through the season or so. Not everyone is Adrian Peterson and can fully recover in 9 months.

Allen's injury was only to his ACL while Peterson's was to both his ACL and MCL. Having only 1 torn ligament versus 2 will dramatically speed up Allen's recovery. Even Allen said that he was surprised to have only a one torn ligament and that the doctors said he'd be up and sprinting by the end of May. Being full-go by the time summer workouts start means he likely won't miss a beat.
