Taj Griffin's coming out party

Post by timberduck »

In the midst of all the doom and gloom surrounding Oregon, how exciting does this kid look?

It's been a couple years since we've had a LMJ/DAT type burner in the backfield that's a threat to break off 45 yards on any given snap. QB issues aside, our run game is still world class.

Can wait for next year. Freeman, Tyner and Griffin.

I will be surprised if Tyner comes back. Hope he does, but something just seems a little strange about his situation.

Then he would have left already. Remember the NCAA will require him to sit out a season, so if he's sitting out this season anyway, and he was going to transfer, he would have done it already to get it over with.

Griffin looked great last night. He definitely has serious speed. Very exciting player to watch :)

As for Tyner, I would be stunned if he transferred.

I forget the rules... could Freeman declare if he wanted to? Or does he need to finish one more season?

He has to be out of high school for 3 years. He has 1 more year until he can leave.

Tyner was added back on the roster after fall camp so I'm pretty sure he comes back next year.

Not everyone who quits a team, transfers.

Benoit looked good with limited carries last night too. Don't we also have a stud HB coming in next year from the east coast (assuming he stays committed)?

They have a RB from Hawaii (Vavae Malepaei) committed.

Vavae Malepeai is a 6-0, 205 rom Mililani, HI. And if your not a new fan, you'll recognize the name, his uncles played for the ducks in the 90s. Given his family, I'd bet he plays at UO around 225 or so. He'll be the thunder to Taj lightning when Royce leaves.

Curious why we didn't see some more Tony Brooks James during the Colorado game. Did he get hurt?
