Running backs. Brooks-James looked pretty good in the spring game.

I actually do worry about this position for the future because of not taking a RB recruit in last year's class.

We should still be fine moving forward. Running back is one of the easiest positions for young studs to come in and make an immediate impact also.

If in 2017 the backfield is Kani and Griffin, with TBJ as a backup, how would you feel?

My biggest worry is Gary Campbell is 65 years old.

I guess I'm not as sold on those guys as I am Freeman, which is probably short-sighted on my part.

Well that much is obvious. But do you think the Ducks would still have a solid offense with those guys as the feature backs?

I believe the Ducks have done the best at reloading that position through the past several year, going clear back to Stewart and Blount...... I have no worries at continued reloading.

Obviously Freeman is extremely good but I honestly prefer Benoit and TBJ. I am always so underwhelmed by Freeman when he gets to the second level. IMO Benoit and TBJ, as well as Griffin, are more skilled runners, just less physically gifted.

There's this brutality when Benoit runs that I love. A reckless abandon.

^^ Agreed. For a short while at the end, Tyner ran that way and became immensely successful. Ala Frank Gore.

i don't agree. but i see the point. Those guys go for touchdowns once they are in second level.

Royce is a phenomenal athlete and we are so lucky to have him, but there are times when I wish he ran more violently and crushed lessor DBs. "Want to come up here and try to stop me again?"
