Moseley's Projected Starters: Defensive Back

Post by StevensTechU »

Has anyone been keeping up with the Spring position reviews that Rob Moseley has put out? His commentary is useful, but particularly so is his own best guess of depth charts.

Here is today's (Defensive Back): http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml ... =210961592

We could be seeing a lot of some young faces this fall in Malik Lovette, Ugo Amadi, and Fotu Leiato.

That's pretty incredible if Lovette starts at opposite corner. Seisay has seemed to be losing stock since his freshman year. Injuries didn't help his cause either..

I like what I'm hearing about the secondary, it could make a similar jump that UW did from 14 to 15.

I think Seisay just has an apparent ceiling due to his [lack of] athletic ceiling. Throw on his high school tape and it's evident why he was considered a 3*. You could argue that he's over-achieved with how much playing time he's received so far in his career.

I wonder if the Nickel will be one of the corners or one of the safeties. I imagine the nickel back will play virtually the same number of snaps as the starters. With a 4-2-5 being the predominant defense against 80% of our opponents.

Robinson at Safety scares me. The first 4 games he managed 2 tackles from the starting safety position, he just seemed to have no feel for where the play was going. At corner where he had set area responsibilities, he did much better. Those games he was at safety it was like they were playing 10 versus 11.

Seisay not starting? Ludicrous.
