I don't have a gameday playlist but Kingdom by Devin Townsend Project is one of my favorite listens right now. He's playing at the Crystal Ballroom Oct. 13th so I'll be taking my wife to her first metal show... should be interesting ha.

If she still loves you after you definitely have a keeper.

So we have, in no particular order, yet:

1. ZZ Top - My Head's In Mississippi.

2. Devin Townsend Project - Kingdom.

Any other offerings? Jazz, folk, blues, classical, hip hop, rap, rock, waltz, electronica, jug band, other?

1. ZZ Top - My Head's In Mississippi.

2. Devin Townsend Project - Kingdom.

3. Circle of Life - Disney

4. Help - The Beatles (starring Yoko Ono)

Keep 'em coming. Would like to put together a 10 or 12 tune set list for the game Saturday.

Surely there must be some more eclectic musical tastes here on the board.

What are you listening to that get's you in the game time mood?

I'll submit a contribution and a request:

My contribution: "It's a Long Way to the Top (if you Wanna Rock n' Roll)."

Now, my request...

Can you please for the love of Puddles start a "Day After Gameday" playlist thread after Saturday's game ends? That could be either fun or cathartic, or both, depending how things pan out.

I certainly can.

Whether the oft times fickle and somewhat ambivalent DucksAttack community will respond is an entirely different matter.

Another consideration is the potential for a bad loss against WSU whereafter I will not have internet connectivity following the act of defenestrating my laptop.

And just to be clear in case it wasn't, my "Help!" contribution was meant as a joke, i.e., it's obviously what the Ducks need right now.

Oh, I know. But you put it on the list. So it's on the list. And if I can find a version with Yoko on it I'm playing it. :)

I'll post up all the videos Friday afternoon. Need a few more.

I'm down with modern melodic/power/opera metal. Particularly with female singers. \w/  \w/

Have a tough time with modern metal that has guttural vocals and lacks guitar solos or any sort of instrument virtuosity within the song.

Sabbath, Deep Purple, Dio, Quiet Riot, Priest, Ozzy, Maiden, Warrant, Motorhead, Skid Row, etc., aren't really even 'metal' by today's standards. I think metal sort of jumped the shark back in the '90s when Marilyn Manson and other bands (Gwar?) ushered in an era of anything goes shock rock. When Alice Cooper did shock rock it was novel and interesting. But it was also musical. Current metal seems to have lost much of its musicality.

Metal or no?

No Patsy Cline offerings? Earl Scruggs? John Prine? Linda Ronstadt? Donna Summers? Vivaldi? Sheena Easton? Lou Reed?

C'mon you old bastards. Don't be shy. Like food, music is an underappreciated delicacy.

Need some more modern recommendations too. Think the newest song so far is '09.

I wasn't going to bump this thread because the Oregon v. WSU playlist thread was not well received. Or received at all - not a single comment good or bad. (I liked it though).

As a fully formed adult male I don't exist upon emotion. My world is rational, logical and mostly reasonably considered. That said, this is HATE WEEK when Washington comes to town. This week I shout at my barista, text my ex from ten years past after midnight, and squat when I pee. I will also throw middle fingers at every crappy driver on the road, spank my waitress on the butt, and say things like "no, I can't help you with that because that's woman's work."

Can we put together a second Ducksattack collaborative playlist thread?

Not my official contribution but I have:

Anger:

Hope:

And acceptance:

As before - any song, any genre, any era. What song gets you up for Oregon football or the game this week against Washington?
