He had one really good season at Rutgers when he had 11 wins and three other 9 win seasons, but the rest was bad. I'd say that he's a good coach, but not a great coach or a players coach. Also, like PJ Fleck, I don't see Schiano as having any recruiting connections in the west. Another thing is that with him being an east coast guy, if he DID do well at Oregon, he'd likely jump ship as soon as a decent job opened on the east coast.
I am confused by McElwain making so many peoples "nightmare coach" list. Maybe I am missing something, and I don't think we would leave FL anyway.. but why would we not be intrigued by a guy with West and South recruiting experience, Saban apprentice, Successful HC. He has lead his team to 2 straight SEC championship games (this year with an injury riddled team). Prior to that he turned ColState into an overachieving relevant team who got better with each of his 3 years there.
Again, I don't think he would leave Florida, but I would be thrilled with this hire unless there is something I am missing.
Not saying he absolutely is the guy.. but someone help me understand why he makes this list?

100% Agree with this post. Not sure why all the hate.
