Hey no problem! I know most people just know him from his Alabama stint and probably don't realize just how great an eye for talent this dude has. While at FIU he also signed another unheralded kid from Miami named Johnathan Cyprien who is a pretty dang good starting safety for the Jaguars now. Another 2-star who nobody offered. Give him Oregon's resources and watch these Florida guys start lining up official visits like crazy!Pontius wrote:ArkansasDuck wrote:I kept up with Cristobal when he was the FIU HC because I'm a Arkansas State grad and fan and FIU played in the Sun Belt Conference at the time. He took over FIU just 2 years after they moved to FBS and did an incredible job. IMO he was given a raw deal there when fired. I always felt he was an excellent coach and he had this ability to find diamonds in the rough amongst all the other bigger Florida schools. Case in point TY Hilton. He was a 5'9 160 lbs 2-star recruit and FIU was his only offer. It was amazing watching him in college and all the creative ways that Cristobal used him...think DeAnthony Thomas just not quite as fast and probably a better receiver. That dude was the best player on the field even when they played the bigger teams and it was very obvious. Excited to see what he can do with a roster full of TY Hilton-like guys.
As a Colts fan, I really like this post. What's funny about Hilton, is that not only did he fall through the cracks among college coaches, he did the same with NFL coaches. All he's done is prove everybody wrong at every step. Thanks for the tidbit about Cristobal as it adds something to look forward to. I just hope it lasts for at least a few seasons to help solidify a nice base for the program.
I felt, and feel, the exact same as you.UOducksTK1 wrote:And to think I was excited about the Hoke hire when we landed him. Our OC / DC hires are 10x more amazing.
This staff is so loaded.

Unless it really really wiggles we can't afford to pay him anything over 750k max. But yeah it'll be in that 650-750k range.LegalizeQuack wrote:Good break down.
Think there was some wiggle room with that 4mil budget. I'd be surprised if his contract was sub 700k
The budget actually was said to be up to 4,000,000+. If never said 4mill was as high as they would go.chipkellysballs wrote:Leavitt 1,150,000duxforlyfe wrote:Anyone know MCs contract?
