Rule #1 was probably "don't get hurt".Alan wrote:One thing I noticed was there was very little guarding and contact, also no one tried to stuff. I wonder if Willie had some game rules before tipoff. It was a fantastic move by Willie, really brought the new staff together, did anyone notice in the pregame huddle for the coaches how big a smile big Joe had on his face?

Easily could have created rules. We don't want to see Herbert going up for a contested lay in and falling on top of someones foot and severely twisting an ankle in front of a sold out MKA.Duck24 wrote:Rule #1 was probably "don't get hurt".Alan wrote:One thing I noticed was there was very little guarding and contact, also no one tried to stuff. Herbert is pretty damn athletic. He should have dunked after swatting WT, but maybe thought that would for sure cost him his job.

This isn't his first rebuild so I think he's got experience in how to win over a fanbase after a down year or two. Plus he's got a personality that people seem to want to rally around, which is a good thing when trying to win over fans and the team.

Winston is looking pretty swole. This staff might be just the thing to get him playing to the potential of his athleticism.
Great move by Willie and the gang. He's quickly building the excitement around Oregon football back up.

When it is 4th and 1 from the Huskies 35 yard line with :45 seconds to go in the 4th quarter and the game all tied up at 31 apiece, with Husky Stadium absolutely rocking and screaming for Duck blood, that bond and that love we are building now is going to come in handy.
