An attorney for now-former University of Oregon football player Tristen Wallace notified the UO on Friday it may face a lawsuit over its release of information on a student-conduct case involving Wallace, who reportedly is the subject of a criminal investigation in Lane County.

The university hides behind FERPA on anything injury related but violates it in instances of sexual assault. Logical.

They had a knee-jerk reaction given the publicity surrounding sexual assault on/off campus, especially in the past few years. UO didn't disclose, it got grilled and thrashed in the media. Now, they went the opposite way and they are going to get grilled again. It's a balance that the campus hasn't figured out the correct balance yet.
