I was actually just about to post about this - at least with Herbert in the game, very uptempo spread. Similar to what we've seen before, at a clip faster than we had it last year though.

There's no competition. Herbert is our quarterback.

Mostly not. I've seen them do it but mostly no huddle.

Yep, definitely. Travis has a good feel for the pocket though which makes me optimistic if something happens

Yeah, second string QB and center is an area of concern.

I think it's Pisarcik that's having the snapping issues, so...3rd string center?

And I also get the feel that Burmeister will at least be serviceable next year if needed given he's only been around 15 practices

Burmeister has some wheel when scramble. He will be good next year with some more of practice and game experience if possible.

Also, good to see Justin talk and teach players when they screwed up. Even after a TD. He's becoming a leader.

YES!

This made me more excited for next season than anything. LOVED the enthusiasm! And yes, Herbert is fantastic.

I'm not too worried about the backup QB spot... Jonsen looks capable, and Burmeister has potential. I guess I'd be more worried if both Herbert and Jonsen got hurt. Was really impressed with some of Jonsen's throws though, and he had a Mariota-like scramble-and-pitch in the first quarter.

Defensively... I'm not much of a defensive guy, but I liked what I saw in the secondary... seemed like quite a few contested passes and breakups.

Hopefully the recruits enjoyed the show!

I actually thought Herbert and Jonsen looked even, the grey team had a much better receivers and defense, but being at the game Herbert's receivers were open almost the entire time whereas Jonsen didn't have anyone open a lot, and that interception by Springs was an incredibly defensive play more than a bad pass, it was actually a very good pass. Plus Jonsen had IMO the best pass of the day. I do agree that Herbert will end up starting but from my perspective, it seemed pretty even. In addition Herbert's Oline did better as well. But I was impressed with both QB's! I'm excited for what both could bring.

What stood out to me today:
Springs, looked like an NFL corner out there today.
Both QB's: gonna be a tough battle
RB's: they to me looked like the best unit on the team
Carrington: looked unguardable out there.

Overall, I just loved the defensive effort, we don't have a super weak defense anymore!

In addition, my friend in the coast guard got to go on the field today, and he got the jersey from Kaulana Apelu (one away from Herbert!) and he asked him the biggest difference between this year and last year and he said that there isn't a wall between them and the coaches like last year, he said the coaches are always available to them. I love hearing that!
