Looks like Daewood Davis really does run a legit 4.4

Post by srsmiley007 »

Personally, I questioned the veracity of his speed from the film but looks likes the jokes on me. If he's running the 100 this quick, he looks like he legimately runs in the 4.4 - 4.5 range. I still question the 4.3 but I'll take a legit 4.4/4.5 any day. Good news for us.

FYI - He just posted on Twitter that he ran a 10.60 100m and a 21.90 200m for those interested.

6' 160lbs soaking wet. Hope he hits the weights. Speed is the one thing you can't coach so I hope he turns into a DAT. Well his first couple years...

He doesn't pull away from guys in his film though. There's some raw potential there but a legit 4.4 guy should either have crazy acceleration and burst or long strides to pull away. Weirdly, he is an anomaly that doesn't seem to possess either. He could still become a threat down he road though.

The guy does play in Florida. Everyone is crazy fast down there.

I see the legit 4.4 speed when he runs in a straight line. He is not very laterally quick, though. At least not yet.

Like I said google. It will pull up half a dozen or more links. He ranges from 6' 160 to 6' 2" 175. :) Recruits always pad their measurable so he's somewhere in between. No doubt he's fast.

Calm down Francis. I wasn't arguing, just answering a question.

He is definitely 6' 2" easily. If you google his name and images one of him and Taggart pops up. Taggart is about 6' even, based on pictures of him with other recruits.

Daewood is really thin though, and gets caught from behind in film a few times. His height may make him worth it in the long term, but it will take some time to get there and he is definitely no where near 4.3. As much as there are a bunch of fast kids in Florida, they don't get any slower at this level. Can't see him ever being a star here, but could be a really solid player moving forward
