Who do you want as the HC at Oregon next year?
Who do you want coaching Oregon next year? What does your list look like, is Willie your #1 pick?
I think my list of attainable guys is as follows
1. Chris Klieman - HC at NDSU he's a proven winner in FCS if he brought the right Offensive staff in I'd like to see what he could get out of Herbert
2. Kliff Kingsbury- I'd love a pairing of Kingsbury and Leavitt, I know people aren't high on him but this is my list.
I only have 2 because I'm lazy

Why another thread on this? There are two currently that have ongoing conversations about future coaches

Some perspective from the Midwest (Columbus, OH). Oregon is a huge brand. Maybe the biggest brand west of the Mississippi currently. Yes... Texas and USC, but UO is way more relevant in the eyes of the younger generation. Look at how bad USC got slighted in the post season convo. No better treatment than Oregon would have gotten. Oregon is still new and flashy and rich as hell. Nobody hates Oregon, and everybody pays attention to what they are doing. For a current head coach, Oregon is about as cushy of a job as one will ever get. Especially after the way Taggart showed he could recruit here. And then throw in the name equity the Bball program carries. Oregon has as much poaching power as any other program but the absolute elite (Alabama/OSU.... that’s about it). Only concern is that they have to do this (hypothetical) coaching search right. Oregon won’t stay relevant like a Texas/USC.

I wanted Scott Frost when Kelly went to the NFL (though I knew there was no chance at that time). No need to change now.
Scott Frost.

Posted this in the other thread but it's better off here:
At this point my top choice would be Wilcox. He's obviously an Oregon guy so this would likely be a destination job and I believe he has the making of a great HC. It may take a few years but long term I think he'll be really good.
Previously I never liked the idea of hiring a guy just because of his Oregon ties but after this Taggart ordeal I've started to change my mind. Oregon probably will never be able to hold onto outsiders when bigger schools come calling and Taggart-like turmoil every few years will be devastating to the future of this program. It doesn't mean you go out and just hire the best available Oregon guy but in this instance I think a great hire that happens to have incredibly strong Oregon ties exists in Wilcox.
