Fastest Current Ducks

Post by greenyellow »

S&C coach Feld has let people know who the fastest Ducks are after the first few weeks under the new S&C team's guidance. Only real shocker is that Hollins is just as fast as Griffin right now.

Feld is really fun. Was sold when I heard he liked coach Rad's stuff. Think he's going to be awesome for the program.

Hollins will go high in the draft if he can add more mass.

I know there were some folks questioning DD's speed being a legit 4.4 last year..they eating some crow right now.

Hopefully we can polish him up at WR.

Interesting to measure it in top speed rather than 40 time, which obviously uses acceleration as a huge factor.

Two obersvations:
1) Hollins is a freak.
2) This team is actually kind of slow by UofO standards. Not a single defensive back faster than Hollins? Yikes.

Shows how far Oregon's recruiting has fallen the past few years.

As well as a "how." I still remember Chip on signing day would just rattle off guys' 40 times, to an extent that I would consider overdoing it (a football team beats a track team in football, after all). But I think a lot of the more recent coaches don't look at it nearly enough.

Only people running faster than those guys are recruits deciding today and running away from Eugene.

29 Ducks tested between 20MPH and Davis' 21.8. Not a great deal of separation. I'm also not sure how valuable top end speed is in evaluating football players. Not that it is totally worthless, but 10 meter speed is probably more relevant to 90% of positions. and 20 meter for skilled positions.

Good one, running back to their mamas in the cases of out of state recruits. Haha

Apparently Feld said that Oregon is really slow compared with Georgia
