Re: 2018 Depth Chart
Our defensive starters might actually be better than our offensive starters.
Our DB starters are a little young, but RB, a couple WRs, and our right guard position on offense have me a little weary. Whereas our front 7 starters minus maybe the MIKE position are looking great.

Re: 2018 Depth Chart
Chileduck appears to have adjusted his numbers since yesterday. He now has 77 players on scholarship, which would leave 8 open. I wonder how many grad transfers are actually our there. Those eight will help make a fuller class next year. I think they are looking at a two-year rebuild, so that makes sense.
I heard from my fifth-hand source that Burmeister actually has a positive frame of mind right now. He believes he can play, but just needed practice before being thrown to the wolves. He thinks they didn't let him throw enough and gain that experience, and he has confidence that in time he will develop. To me, whether this is true or not, it's a good sign; much better than sitting in the fetal position saying 'I suck' over and over. Hopefully his story turns out better than Lockie.

Man, I feel a lot better about next year reading this. Barring a series of injuries, 7 wins is absolutely our floor.

BB was handcuffed by Willie's atrocious offense. This year will prove his ability to playpolyduck wrote:Notes:

Everyone keeps saying that but I'm not sold on Arroyo or the depth.Hoagduck wrote:Man, I feel a lot better about next year reading this. Barring a series of injuries, 7 wins is absolutely our floor.
A few injuries and that 7 win floor moves to a 5 win floor in a hurry

Re: 2018 Depth Chart
Buzz kill. Who says you have to be sold on anything? Injuries can happen to any team, at any time. The Ducks have depth at some positions, lighter at others, just like ALL teams. Lighten up Francis. If ifs and buts were cherries and nuts, we’d all have a Merry Christmas. Take a nap, or something.Duckenstein wrote:Everyone keeps saying that but I'm not sold on Arroyo or the depth.Hoagduck wrote:Man, I feel a lot better about next year reading this. Re: 2018 Depth Chart
We are incredibly thin at a few spots. Especially CB. It's Graham, Lenoir and no one else. Amadi will play there are times, although he's our best safety by far. McKinley and Woods are going to get chances.
Lots of names I almost forgot existed, due to injuries. Keith Simms, Bryson Young, Gus Cumberlander.
It's hard to tell just by looking at this if we'll be better than we were in 2017. Common sense and my Duck homerism say yes, but there are so many unknown that I have to temper my expectations.

Re: 2018 Depth Chart
I wish Sewell was an early enrollee. I'd like for him to be here going through workouts. He could start at guard right away. If DJ. Johnson clears to play, that's huge. The corner spot is sketchy, and our WR are meh, but I don't see how we don't win 8 games baring crazy injuries. I would consider it a bit of a failure to fall below that.

I think we've gotta play Holland at CB. He looked phenomenal there at the Poly Bowl & his tape.

Re: 2018 Depth Chart
Huge jump from HS to this level for an O-lineman. The current line are now seasoned vets. Sewell would have to be ridiculous to usurp any current starter spot, but would love it if he could break in early and prove me wrong. MC spoke of Daewood Davis’ crazy speed. If he has hands to match the speed, our WR core could be in good shape. Give Mitchell, Davis, Johnson, Redd, Griffin and Schooler a lot of off season reps with Herbert and it could be lethal.Groundswell wrote:I wish Sewell was an early enrollee.
