Agreed Stanford running game so far

SDSU - 59 yds
USC - 159 yds
UCDavis - 137 yds

Not exactly the power run Stanford we all know and sort of hate.

I think the first game for Stanford the offensive line did not play well. The second game was against USC and they probably have a lot better defensive line than they saw the first game. The third game was without Bryce Love. I think that is part of the problem Stanford has had so far running the ball.

Home field is usually worth 3 points so Vegas thought Stanford was 1.5 points better than us. I was expecting Stanford -3 for the opening line.

Not at all looking forward to the Thomas Graham Jr./JJ Arcega-Whiteside matchup Everywhere else defensively I am really confident, especially with what SHOULD be a pretty intense Autzen crowd.

Offensively I'm hoping we can get more out of the run game, and that Herbie looks a lot sharper than he did Saturday. The drops from the WR at this point are going to be what they are.

As far as special teams are concerned, hoping we can get some big plays by the return units, and pray that it doesn't come down to field goals lol even if Adam Stack is supposed to be back.

Yeah, JJ had a line of 6/112/2TD last year when we played them and I don't know if our corners are that much better this year. Hopefully we continue to get some good pass rushing.

I'm just hoping it's close and it'll be a fun/electric game. Gonna be my first game attending this year, so really excited to be back in Autzen.

I don't think Altman would be OK with it, but I'd love to see them borrow Paul White and Kenny Wooten for a week of practice and have the DB's try to keep them from getting "rebounds" as practice.

But yes, making sure we have the right matchups in the secondary is going to be important. I think Holland and Lenoir have more of the physical size to compete with those guys. Pickett is 6ft 1, Haki Woods 6ft 3, and Hailassie is 6ft 2. Try to match up size a bit. (although it's not just size, it's also strength and technique with those big guys). In the RZ, we might even get away with Hollins or Jelks trying to jam them at the line, as they are both 6ft 6.

Andrew Luck's last year there, where we really put a whooping on them down on the farm, we had Dion Jordan doing just that sort of thing and a physical guy in Eddie Pleasant in the secondary going up against them on those deep balls.
