I honestly think everyone just has a sour taste from the Lockie/Allie/Mahalak situation from a few years back.
Burmeister, as freshman, wasn't ready, and his only throw this year looked bad in the rain. And everyone thinks it might be Lockie 2.0. with Shough being Mahalak 2.0.
It might not be as bad as it seems. Coaches were determined to not lose this game, so they didn't want to take any chance. Plus it was meaningless so they also didn't want Shough to get an injury (or maybe already had one we don't know about) and with the way OSU plays they want our players injured (check out that tackle that took Herbert out closely).
With that said I was on board in wanting to see Shough in and throw a few just to see what he has, and Burmeister as well to see if he improved.
Tyler Shough is still on this team

Any links to that sack so we can see what you are talking about? I can't find a replay on youtube.
