I really like this. I had prepared myself for Heyward but I'm actually really glad we got an experienced guy. I just hope Heyward and Joe don't become disinterested like Leavitt did this year.

I am going to bet that there were lots of conversations between MC and Heyward and don't forget Joe is the Assoc Head Coach so even if Heyward had been promoted it's likely nothing would have changed with Joe's title and responsibilities. My guess only but just applying some logic.

What are the odds he's BSU's head coach when we play them in 2024 after Harsin gets hired away?

Uncle Phil probably knows where there’s one.

Well kids, we can at least rule out he's getting here by train...

With 11 2* and unranked guys. And you left out what he did to us.
I did forget that, but it was a Willie team too!
Can't blame you for blocking that game out of your mind.

Greg Biggins thinks he is.

Biggins said Oregon’s hire of Andy Avalos as defensive coordinator was a good move. Avalos worked in the same capacity at Boise State last season.

“He’s always been a pretty tireless recruiting," Biggins said. "He’s young. He gets it. He’s a grinder.”

He landed Boise 4* QB this year, which isn't even his side of the ball. I'm not sure who else offered him, but that's pretty impressive to land any 4* to Boise, much less not even selling him on being his coach in any capacity.

A little closer look, his D gave up 10 points in 3 quarters vs WSU, then tired out and gave up 21 in the 4th. Still better than our D did vs Faulk.

That game was a fluke game. There may have been defensive touchdowns as well. It went chaotic in the fourth quarter

I have no opinion but I do think he has potential. He does a good job when he has ok guys playing ok competition. Bigger question is what kind of a schemer is here? 4-3, 3-4? I saw 4-2-5 elsewhere....

The defense will be good if we go with a 3-4 again but a 4 man front and we could have growing pains due to lack of depth? I think this is the most important part about this change....

Just looked up the BSU/WSU stats, the Cougars had 10 points after 3 quarters in a triple overtime game. 16 overtime points and a pick 6 in the 4th quarter skew to point total.
