I’m hoping Mastro doesn’t get promoted. Arroyo is better then he gets credit for and can recruit, happy for him though if it’s true.

Good for him. Don't know if Oregon would hire outside or not.

All of this.

Just like rumblings of promoting Heyward, I really hope we go and look for Avalos 2.0 on the offensive side of the ball. Get a guy with experience play calling who's on the up and up and not just promote within.

I don't dislike MA as an OC, I just think he has a long history of underachieving as a QB coach. I really hope we go get the best available OC. Imo there has to be a reason Mastro hasn't ever been promoted to an OC.

A couple names like
Boise St OC Zak Hill
Chad Morris

I would prefer if we didn't poach another Boise coach.

Why's that? Unless you are a Boise fan, I'm not sure I see a downside? Hill has shown to be both a great QB coach, and very good OC at both EWU and BSU. And Avalos was a home run hire.

Best of luck to him. He did a good job here and I'm confident that CMC will find a great replacment. He always does.

But I will be rooting for Arroyo.

Gonna throw a curve ball out here just for the hell of it... Major Applewhite?

Underachieved as a HC at Houston, but has a history of explosive offenses, and has been serving as an offensive analyst at Bama this year.

Alabama connection, up from analyst, could work out.

Pardon my french, but F Major Applewhite. He was the whiny B who went to the NCAA, and got us put on probation. He expected Lyles to only send kids to Texas, and when he didn't he cried to daddy about it.

It will be interesting to watch. I'm curious if he tries to bring over any other people from the Oregon staff with him. I will be curious to see how he does running his own program.

So I assume if Arroyo gets the UNLV job, he'd likely leave before the bowl game to focus on recruiting and hiring his staff. If so, who calls the plays? Don't think Cristobal or any of the other coaches have been playcallers before so it could really impact Oregon's offense for the Rose Bowl.
