Jeff Popovich, cornerbacks coach at Georgia Tech
Greg Brown, cornerbacks coach at Purdue
Rod Chance, cornerbacks coach at Minnesota
Ashley Ambrose, former cornerbacks coach at Colorado
Gerald Alexander, defensive backs coach at Miami Dolphins
George Helow, special teams coordinator at Maryland
Aric Williams, defensive backs coach at San Jose State

I like the sound of George Helow.
"Helow just arrived at Maryland after four seasons at Colorado State, the last two as safeties coach. CSU jumped from 68th to 7th in pass defense last season.
Prior to his time in Fort Collins, Helow spent two seasons (2014-15) at Georgia as a defensive quality control assistant, was a defensive graduate assistant at Florida State during its 2013 BCS National Championship season and was an intern at Alabama during its 2012 national championship campaign."

Assuming Cristobal has the same budget ($450,000), I think we can check Greg Brown off the list unless he wants to be at Oregon for other reasons. Everyone else on this list seems "gettable" with the possible exception of Gerald Alexander - not too many people would spurn their first NFL job before it even started to go back to college football.

Jeff Popovich, $230,000 at Georgia Tech
Greg Brown, $410,000 at Purdue
Rod Chance, $215,000 at Minnesota
Ashley Ambrose, was paid $232,000 at Colorado
Gerald Alexander, Made $275,000 at Cal - no info on Dolphins Salary
George Helow, made $100,000 at CSU, no info on salary at Maryland
Aric Williams, $114,384 at San Jose State

Now that I've speculated, let me acknowledge that this list could in no way resemble the list Mario has.

It’s gotta be Gerald Alexander and for one reason only, that beard pairs really well with Feld’s mustache!

Yup void of this info, the decision seems foolish, but in the light of this, he's certainly making a good choice. Bummer for us tho!
