Cam’s kids will be enrolled at UO before his eligibility is up at this rate. ;) How many degrees does he have at this point.
Not making light of it at all, I feel for the guy.

In Justin Flowe’s case I’m curious. Could he have taken a medical exemption last year and redshirted this year or vice verses. I know there are limits and rules to do that I’m just not sure what they are. Missing two season we might get 4 yrs instead of the 3 and out we are expecting.

Don't know if it matters with the Covid year.

Outgoing after this season, you have 6 seniors and Kayvon Thibodeaux, leaving 9 spaces for signings.

The group of possible NFL departures are: Verone McKinley, Mykael Wright, CJ Verdell, Devon Williams, TJ Bass, and Bennett Williams. Half of those go, you have 12 spots.

Ducks plan on signing 25, and I bet they'll try to leave a spot open for the transfer portal (just a hunch, nothing solid), they'll need 14 transfers.

I think both Tillmon and McNeil play most/all games on STs and likely won't redshirt.

If he plays fewer than 4 games this year, he would get a redshirt year. Doesn't even necessarily need to be a medical redshirt.

He will technically be a Rs-Fr next season, which could likely be his last if he stays healthy and performs like we all expect.

Likely NFL departures:
- KT
- Verdell
- Wright
- maybe Dorlus

Likely transfers:
- Crocker
- Addison
- Delgado
- Dollars
- Wilhoite
- Greenfield
- Poti
- Afaese
- Jaylen Smith
- Butterfield

Some of these will hurt, but that's the nature of big boy football. I expect we see 1-2 unexpected transfers that sting even a bit more than these.

Updates since the original post (today is 12/13):

DJ James has announced he is entering the portal. Sala Aumavae-Laulu, aka Sala da Beast, is going to take his shot at the pros. Kayvon has announced he's going to the NFL. That means Oregon currently has room to sign a whopping 11 players. Of course, more transfers will happen, but that's where things stand. Oregon's recruiting class presently has 12 players in it, of which I believe zero will be signing in the early signing period.

Before DJ James and Sala announced their offseason intentions, corner and offensive tackle were going to be areas of potential need via the transfer portal or impact true freshmen. That is obviously even more the case now.

NCAA offering any leeway to accommodate the wacky covid year? With the free year of eligibility last year, rosters could carry over 85 scholarship players (maybe north of 95?). It's going to snap back to 85 just the year after? I thought some schools (SEC) talked about a multi-year adjustment period to get back to 85 but i obviously haven't done research on this.

Our recruiting class is going to plummet, likely from about 6th to 18th or so when it's all said and done.

We would have had to process 8-10 guys to make that class even work however. We will likely see fewer guys transfer and rely more on the portal (something MC didn't use, or want to use). In the end, the recruiting ranking won't be as sexy, but we will be pretty similar talent wise.

I think it's totally fair to expect a top 10-12 class from Lanning next year and anything below that is likely problematic.

It sounds like if Lanning has any guys in mind to go after last-minute, he will have to let some of the existing commits go. I have to wonder if he is taking a look at a guy like Sir Mells and wondering if he can do better with someone from back home.
