Justin Jackson visited Oregon this weekend

Post by UOducksTK1 »

He also visited Maryland and Uconn, and them along with Oregon are considered to be the finalists. Uconn sounds like the leader, but he is acquaintances with Brooks and we have a good Canada connection. So we'll see..

He has great length and is very versatile, which is perfect for DA's system.

Well, whats the word here?
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

It would definitely be nice to add another elite level athlete with length to backup Brooks and Dorsey on the perimeter. Dwayne Benjamin did a great job of filling that role last season and that appears to be one of the few holes on the team next season.

There's been a few crystal balls to Maryland recently, and on their boards they are sounding pretty confident.

While it would have been great to get him, he was always more of a luxury than a necessity. Oregon should still have more than enough firepower, even if Ennis doesn't get an extra year.

Particularly if Ennis doesn't get another year, Keith Smith is going to have to step up and give some quality minutes. He is the only scholarship player on the perimeter (off the bench) that has any size whatsoever, but he isn't an elite athlete. His history of injuries also makes it concerning to have to rely on him to fill any sort of significant role as a true frehsman. Like I said previously, the hole on this roster left by Dwayne Benjamin could be the achilles heel of the team this season. Altman no longer has the luxury of bringing in a perimeter player off the bench with the combination of great length, elite athleticism and three point range. That being said, there are few teams in the country that have a "perfect" roster, so Altman will just have to do what coaches do and make the best out of what he has on hand.
