LaMelo Ball scores 92!

Post by OregonDonor »

The younger brother of Lonzo, LaMelo is a 5 star high school sophomore. Scored 41 of his points in the 4th quarter(8 minutes).

Hope Altman is creating a relationship.

All Lonzo's bros are committed to UCLA already. They committed like over a year and a half ago.

Ugh. Just fully read the article and saw that. Still, you never know if one of them might want to pave their own path at another exciting basketball school. Especially LaMelo.

Are they tied to Adidas?

Pretty sure. Plus, their dad is kinda controlling.

While they're really talented, they put up these types of numbers because they basically play a Paul Westhead-style that basically eschews defense for tons of offense.

The video I saw of it looked like he didn't even get back on d, and about 70pts came on layups.

That essentially how Lonzo Ball got much of his stats as well. Their dad is their coach and all he's done is create a system that allows his sons to put up video game numbers while playing minimal defense. If you've ever wondered why Lonzo looks like a turnstile on defense much of the time, this is why. Whenever they've played teams that were disciplined and ran sound defensive/offensive systems, they've struggled.

They were supposedly fouling the opposing team to extend the game, allowing him more opportunities to score despite the game being out of reach. Have fun with those egos UCLA.

Seriously? What the heck is the point of that? If UCLA is willing to cater to these types of coaches/players, then they can have them. I'd rather take the routes that Arizona and Oregon are following.

Here is the passage/article I read about the fouling late to let him score more.

Los Osos Coach Dave Smith called it “a joke.” He said Chino Hills players were fouling on purpose trying to prevent Los Osos from running out the clock and thus deny Ball more points.

No thanks. Altman is doing just fine without an ego like this.
