UCLA suspending 3 starters vs Oregon

After reading that article, I was reminded at how many teams have off the field issues. It's just funny how Oregon's problems get massively overblown and talked about (although in I think it was justified in Masoli's case since he was a big time QB on a big time program), and then problems from a school like UCLA don't get any attention.

Just saying. Not necessarily bad or good, just thought it was worth pointing out.

To be fair, before we go claiming bias in reporting we need to know who it is and what they did. As far as we know it's just players violating team rules and no actual crimes were involved like there were with our players.

If these suspensions turn out to be due to criminal acts, I guarantee UCLA will face a lot of the same negative publicity Oregon did. Especially considering what went down during Neuheisal's tenure at UW.

I agree and I was actually mainly referring to the crimes done by the 3 players that were suspended and eventually transferred earlier this year.

UCLA drug policy calls for a one-game suspension upon a third positive test. The first positive test results in the team doctor being told, mandatory counseling and future testing. The second failed test results in the coach and associated athletic director being notified, with mandatory counseling and future tests.

Is this how it is at most/all schools? This seems pretty lax to me... The coach doesnt find out until the second failed test?!?

Usually when there's smoke, there's fire so I'm thinking these rumors are going to turn out to be true. Losing 3 of their best defensive players would make stopping Oregon's offense a near impossibility.
