He did good in Atl until Vick got him fired because Knapp wouldn't use Vick right. Seattle was a disaster, but that was only about 30% his fault and 70% the gm ruskells fault.

The guy may never have recruited per say, but just read how he recruited TJ Whoesurmomma to Seattle sometime, and you figure out he will be a formidable foe on the recruiting trail. If he brings in the right OC UCLA will be very good.
Seriously? UCLA might as well go hire Bellevue's Bruce Goncharoff if they are simply going to go out and re-sign his re-treads each year. Before Slick Rick went to westwood, he worked for BG. Same goes for Mora. Really, hiring Goncharoff would have been a better move. I just haven't seen anybody, even in ucla, with as much optimism for the guy as you buckmark. He might develop into a good coach, but I just don't see it happening since there is nothing he's done in the past that makes me think he'll be successful, especially in a crappy situation like ucla.

Mora has this going for him, on the UCLA 2 deep there is at least 50% of the guys we all would have loved over half the guys we signed out of HS. Meaning he has a ton of talent to work with, plus they have a line, that with the right coaching, should be better than Stanfords. Seriously they are all 4-5* guys and avg 323 across the board, how did their O suck so bad.

Lots of coaches can screw things up with talented players. UCLA has been doing it for decades now, in large part because they do not identify as a football school but as a basketball school. Sure, he's new blood, but its all based on the wishful-thinking that guy with a brash personality will turn into the affable Pete Carrol simply because he came from the NFL like Pete did. Needless to say, nobody is happy at http://www.bruinsnation.com/ and with good reason.

But hey, if UCLA wants to be the Kentucky of the P12 South, go for it!
