Meh. The 1st pic is fine, if you see other still shots where the ball is being squeezed or hit it looks just like this. A still action shot like this just shows how much a ball compressed when pressured & it looks weird because you never see it in real time. Just like how much you notice little details you never see normally when u see a play in super slo-mo.
I have a Kobe sports card & the the picture is of him stealing the ball. His middle finger is hitting the ball & it's compressed quite a bit, it looks like he's popped the ball. Which he of course hasn't, the picture just captured a moment you normally never see with the naked eye.
