Ducks #5 seed in Bracketology

I was thinking like a 7 seed, but it would be awesome to end up as a 5 seed. Really need to start winning again. This team needs a spark of confidence.

Interesting. Means that right now, they are easily in. Probably helps that a lot of top teams are losing this year. I think we get in with a 4-3 finish or better.

Just getting in after four years of being out would be nice. But given where the Ducks have been this year, if they do make it to the Dance, I sure hope they aren't lower than a #6. Even if there aren't any "great" teams this year, I'd still prefer the Ducks not be a #7-10 seed and have to face one of the very top teams if they get to the second round.

I see that the media wasn't too impressed by the Ducks' sweep on the road of the WA schools. They're still at #23 in the AP. But maybe the teams just above them pretty much won this weekend as well . . .

I don't agree with that, but I just want to make the tourny. If Arizona is a #2 seed, no way Oregon is a #9 seed.

Wow...this bracketrography thing is like stepping into the twilight zone...too many descrepancies to list:

Arizona #2 seed?
Gonzaga #3 seed?
UCLA and Colorado #6 seeds???
Wisconsin #4 seed?

WTF???

I don't know how they're making their predictions, but it is way beyond whacked. They have Colorado not only in, but a 6 seed? Arizona State has swept the Buffs this year, has a better record, has more quality wins and is not anywhere close to in (ranked #60 overall). Poor effort. I hear Bill Walton..."Terrrrrible!"

Part of it has to do with how we've played since Artis got hurt. If Artis returns and Oregon shows that they are the team that started out on a tear in Pac-12 play, then Oregon should get a big bump in seeding. If this is the Oregon team that will be in the NCAA tourney, then the committee will likely seed Oregon based on that rather than the body of work. It sounds unfair, but that happens a lot. I do think that UCLA being seeded ahead of Oregon is garbage though. Colorado is seeded where they are because they have a really good RPI and have played one of the toughest schedules in the country. Oregon's out of conference schedule has proven to be very weak, and that will hurt come selection Sunday.

5 to 8 seeds mostly, which sounds about right.

Lunardi currently has Oregon as a # 6 seed. Why are we dropping after 2 road wins?

Weird. But it'll take care of itself. Anybody can beat anybody in college basketball...especially this year.

seeds change to adjust for matchups and locations. for example, you'd rather be a 3 seed in portland than a 2 seed in houston. they can also change if they need to make it so they don't play a conference opponent the first 2 rounds (they try to avoid this, but it isn't a hard requirement that must be followed)

it is also possible to get jumped by somebody who had better wins, or looked more impressive in similar wins.

Actually only one road win. Last update was the 15th, before the Washington State game.

True, but usually when you get a down red arrow, it means you did bad. Gray arrow with a one seed would have sufficed.

Just keep winning and it will all sort itself out.
