The Heir Apparent at Qb for the Ducks in 2015 will be...
Who does everyone see as being the Heir Apparent to Marcus at QB?
The race will be between Lockie, Mahalak, Griffin, and Waller.
I am personally not sold on Lockie. I'm hoping Mahalak takes the reigns although we didn't hear much about him in practice reports this year. What are everyone's thoughts about Marcus's replacement. Who do you want to see running the show come Sept 5.

My ranking would be:
Mahalak
Loktie Griffin/Waller (dont know enough about them)
Wildcard: Braxton Miller if he transfers would be #1

My hope is that it will be Mahalak. My fear is that it will be Lockie.
No one on the roster probably knows the offense better than Lockie, only problem is the offense itself is outside of his physical skill-set.

Exactly. I wish we at least had a Bryan Bennett on the roster. Bryan was good enough to play here, he just came along at the wrong time, which is unfortunate for him.

The problem with Mahalak and Griffin is that they've both been running the scout team all year so their grasp on the offense is probably somewhat behind Lockie at this point. I think the spring drills and game will tell how far those 2 have progressed to challenge Lockie. Moseley was saying how much more confident Lockie runs the offense now, compared to last season when he was splitting back-up duty with Rodrigues. I still remain unconvinced he's the answer and we could very well see multiple starters this coming season.

I hope it is Waller. Mahalak doesn't seem as athletic.
Anyone but Lockie.

I'd like Waller too because I think he's going to win it eventually so why not just have him take it now and run with it?

Mahalak is quite athletic. Just not as much as Waller. Mahalak is a tremendous passer. Great touch, quick release, good zip. He would be my choice, but I heard he has had some shoulder issues.DAT_man_again wrote:I hope it is Waller. Mahalak doesn't seem as athletic.

Moseley a few times pointed out he was in a sling during games this season, recall midseason, probably around the UCLA/Washington game?KingofDucks wrote:Mahalak is quite athletic. If Lockie can manage the game and show more poise than in past spring games I think he has a chance to be pretty good.
Mahalak is pretty damn slippery even though he's not as athletic as Waller. If he can stay healthy I think he has a good shot.
Lots of good young Talent, somebody will turn into a really solid player.

Braxton Miller or Kyler Murray
However in the real world I'm thinking Morgan Mahalak. I mean you can't go wrong with QB's whose initials are MM.

It's Lockie's job to lose. I hope he has a break out Spring game like MM did 3 years ago....can't wait!
