Good to hear about both Ward and Cavaille!
Oregon has been riddled by injuries, but two injured starters might see some action for the first time in weeks at UCLA.
Ducks coach Chip Kelly, who is not a big fan of discussing injuries, said receiver Rory Cavaille and safety T.J. Ward might be cleared to play on Saturday.
Cavaille was a projected starter before suffering a shoulder injury in August. Ward suffered a high ankle sprain in the opener against Boise State.
Cavaille could bolster a receiver corps that has been inconsistent, other than Jeff Maehl. No Ducks receiver has scored a touchdown.
Redshirt freshman John Boyett has played well filling in for Ward. It will be interesting to see how he is used after Ward returns.
It appears, as previously reported, Nate Costa will start at quarterback against the Bruins, though Jeremiah Masoli (knee) might be available as a backup.

I think Cavaille could have a huge impact. If our QB can throw to both sides of the field it should open it up for everyone.

It will be interesting to see what happens if Costa gets on a roll... Even though he doesn't have significant in-game experience, he has been throwing passes to some of these guys for 3-4 years, at least in 7 on 7 drills.
This could get interesting, assuming the line takes care of business...

Cavaille is a good addition to the WRs since he's a good possession-type receiver and he is a good downfield blocker, which really helps in the WR/TE screens and the running game.

Seems like a number of opinions think Costa will be unsettled starting for the first time on the road.
I think it will be more of a battle to control the initial adrenaline rush of starting rather than nerves.
The kid has to be stoked, sic em' Nate
