You forgot the 2 1/2" stainless steel screws, box staples, and about six pounds of assorted UHMW plastic and titanium... Plus barbed wire and vinegar!

He thinks it is fully torn now? Are there any examples of players actually playing with a fully torn plantar fascia? I wonder if there is a high risk of permanent damage playing with this injury?

I worked 2 years in construction on a partial tear - hurt like you know what till I had it repaired.
The only repair they could do was to go in & finish cutting it @ the tear.
Other than the stitches & staples, the pain was gone.
If he finished tearing it, he may not need surgury but may need arch supports of some kind.
